Charlotte Flair WrestleMania 34 WWE WWE Smackdown

– Charlotte Flair spoke with Cathy Kelley for a new interview at SXSW discussing her match at Fastlane with Becky Lynch and more. You can read some highlights below:

On what she is excited about at SXSW: “Honestly, just being here for the first time. I’ve heard so many good things about South By Southwest, and the fact that it’s my first time being able to represent the women’s division and WWE as a whole. And just being able to talk to the music and film induistry about, you know, what we do, what we stand for, how far we’ve come. What it means going into Fastlane tomorrow, and WrestleMania in less than five weeks, and the women being arguably the hottest topic in the company right now, and getting to be part of that. I don’t know, just getting to share the story and what it took to get here, and the ups and the downs, and what it means to everyone and being able to share people’s voices from how I know our locker room feels.”

On being at the WWE lounge at the festival: “Well, you always get nervoius when you’re somewhere for the first time. SOme people in line don’t know who you are, or maybe they’ve heard but they don’t and they’re like, ‘Hey, my friend or my girlfriend of my boyfriend is a huge fan. I know you’re Charlotte, but I’m not’ — like, just introducing yourself, making a first impression. And then, you have the die-hard fans who are like, ‘Man, I’m so ready for Fastlane tomorrow.’ So, it’s great to be able to talk to people.”

On her match with Becky Lynch at Fastlane: “The way I look at it, I’m still the main event whether I win or lose and that’s what it’s about, WrestleMania. I am the main event, and I have faced Becky multiple times over the last year, but the difference between then and now is I’m no longer apologizing. I’m not longer holding back. She’s going to get the best version of Charlotte Flair tomorrow and that’s the dirtiest player in the game.”
