CM Punk Calls Out Oba Femi at WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night One Post Show; Femi Responds

Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk received a response from Oba Femi after the Chicago native called out The Ruler at the SummerSlam: Minnesota Night One Post Show.

At the post-show, Punk, who retained his title against Cody Rhodes at tonight’s show, addressed his potential future challengers in Trick Williams, Sami Zayn, Gunther, and more. He also asked the crowd who they want him to face, and the fans responded with Oba Femi.

Punk acknowledged Femi as the future of the company before reiterating that he remains the current face of WWE, claiming that his experience trumps Oba’s talent. He then urged Femi to go after his title instead of challenging Roman Reigns and risking obscurity.

He said:

“Listen, Oba Femi, without a doubt, is the future. That does not mean I am not the present. Be careful what you try to open underneath the Christmas tree. You may not like what you get. Oba is fantastic. My experience trumps his ability. Oba hasn’t picked which champion he wants to go after. If he wants to wallow in obscurity, go after Roman. If you want to live under the bright lights, come after the real champ.”

Later in the show, Oba Femi, fresh off his memorable triumph over Brock Lesnar in tonight’s main event, addressed Punk’s remarks, claiming that the latter’s pipebombs won’t work on him as he is equally gifted on the mic.

“There are some people who say they are the best on this microphone, in that ring, even at commentary. You want to drop pipebombs and all that stuff, but understand one thing. Your bombs don’t work when it comes to Oba Femi. You are gifted on this mic, and so am I,” Oba said.
