CM Punk says he didn’t feel good about referencing Roman Reigns’ late father in their WrestleMania feud and that he crossed a line with it. The moment came during the March 2nd episode of WWE Raw, when the two were going back and forth on the mic. Punk said at WrestleMania, he was going to bury Reigns right next to his father.

The moment drew a receipt from Jimmy Uso the next week, and Punk apologized to Reigns for the line on this week’s Raw. He spoke about the moment in a sit-down with Corey Graves for WWE ahead of WrestleMania 42 and also touched on Reigns telling Punk that he signed off on Punk returning to WWE. You can see the highlights below:

On Reigns Saying He Had a Say in Punk’s Return:

“Well, I don’t know how true that is. I mean, if — either way honestly, it kind of tickles me because it means he either thinks or is some form of office, which is laughable. But it also gives me something to kind of rage against. You know, me and management have never really seen eye to eye on things. It would make sense that like, ‘Oh, he has a say.’ But also if you had that say, brother, you should have said ‘no.’ It would’ve made your life a whole lot easier.”

On If He Crossed The Line Mentioning Sika:

“I 100% crossed the line, because that’s what I do. I am a gold medalist, habitual line stepper, because I will f**k with you, I will get in your head. I have all the respect in the world for Sika, Afa, all the Wild Samoans. He needs to be taught a lesson. So yeah, I crossed the line.

“Legitimately feel a little bit gross about it, ’cause it’s low hanging fruit and I know I’m better than that. But I’m doing what I have to, and I’m following my game plan.”
