Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes wants to take a leaf out of John Cena’s book and showcase his physical strength inside the ring.

Over the years, Cena has displayed immense feats of strength inside the squared circle, lifting massively built performers like The Big Show and The Great Khali on his shoulders to perform his signature AA move.

The American Nightmare has always been vocal about taking inspiration from Cena since his initial years in the pro wrestling business. On the latest episode of his What Do You Wanna Talk About? podcast, Cody Rhodes admitted he isn’t shy to “steal as much as” he can from Cena’s career.

The 40-year-old paid tribute to John’s incredible feats of strength and wants to emulate the same moving forward.

“I always look at Cena’s career, and I try to steal as much as I can. One of the things that he did really well that I am trying to improve on myself is feats of strength. He’d have this unbelievable [feat of strength]; he truly was, you know, Hard Knocks; he’s training with Rob [MacIntyre]. That’s where that stuff actually comes in handy, being able to do something that someone sitting in the seat can’t do and gets excited about and invigorated about,” he said. [H/T: Fightful]

Cody Rhodes and John Cena were embroiled in a heated rivalry earlier this year following the latter’s shocking heel turn at Elimination Chamber: Toronto. Cena dethroned Cody as Undisputed WWE Champion at WrestleMania 41 to win his 17th World Title.

He dropped the belt back to The American Nightmare at SummerSlam following an abrupt babyface turn in the lead-up to the event.
