Cruz Montana Reunites With Rey Fenix In WWE NXT Opening Segment

Cruz Montana and Rey Fenix had a reunion inside the ring in a segment that opened this week’s episode of WWE NXT. Tuesday evening’s episode of NXT opened with Montana coming down to the ring, seeking to call out Zilla Fatu after Fatu attacked both him and Grayson Waller in the main event of last week’s show.

Montana talked about how he was there to take a spot in NXT and not fill one, and that he would be #1 contender if not for Fatu’s attack. A stagehand informed Montana that Fatu wasn’t there.

That was when Fenix made his way down to the ring to witness who would become the next #1 contender to his AAA World Cruiserweight Championship. He addressed Montana, saying that he was happy to see him again and said he understood Montana’s anger. Montana noted that they’ve gone to hell against each other wherever they’ve been, and he respects Fenix for how he represents himself and the culture. He want on to say he would wait for Fatu in the parking lot, which he acknowledged as the most dangerous place in NXT.

You can see clips from the WWE NXT segment below. Fenix and Montana (as Mike Santana) have previously shared the ring in AEW, TNA, AAW, and more.
