The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Daga is said to be close to a deal with a US wrestling company. This is why AAA announced that he will be giving up the Latin American title, which will be awarded to the winner of Octagon Jr vs. Taurus vs. a mystery opponent at tomorrow’s event.

AAA believe that he will continue to work with them, but not for a while. Daga is getting a residency in the United States, and part of that process is living here for six months without going to Mexico. Rey Fenix previously had to do it and Australian Suicide is currently in the middle of that process. Once his residency is established, AAA believe he will return and hope it will be in the summer (when six months is up). They had to vacate the belt because they weren’t sure when the paperwork would be finalized.

Since AAA expects Daga to return at some point, it is believed that he is not negotiating with WWE. Wherever he shows up, it is likely there will be speculation that his wife, Tessa Blanchard, will go there as well. It was reported last month that there was interest in Daga from AEW, but whether or not they were interested in Blanchard depended on her perceived value compared to the inevitable social media backlash. Blanchard has been accused of being hard to work with and making racist comments in the past.
