Darby Allin Explains His Infamous Appearance on TLC’s Sex Sent Me to the ER

During a recent chat with RJ City on Hey! (EW), AEW star Darby Allin recalled his infamous appearance on an episode of TLC’s Sex Sent Me to the ER. During the segment, Allin claimed he was stung by bees while making love to his supposed girlfriend.

Allin would later reveal that the entire story from the show was made up. Also, he only met the woman he appeared in the segment with shortly before filming. However, the AEW veteran is “absolutely” not bothered at all by breaking kayfabe for Sex Sent Me to the ER.

Allin revealed he had merely just met the woman from the segment on Craigslist about an hour before filming the episode. He explained, “Honestly, they paid me $600 to fly out to LA and film it. And I met the lady on Craigslist an hour before I did it. And we met up at a coffee shop and said, ‘We have to get our story straight so they think it’s real.’ Because the people actually thought it was real.”

When asked if he still keeps in touch with his co-star, the former TNT Champion revealed he never saw her again. Allin claimed, “No. That was the only time I saw her.” RJ City also asked Allin if it bothers him that he struck TLC as someone who would be stung by bees while having sex. Allin noted that he came up with the story and just thought it would be funnier that way, stating, “No. I came up with the story. I just thought it was funnier.”

Darby Allin recently walked away with a huge win over his bitter rival, Jon Moxley, in an I Quit Match at AEW WrestleDream 2025 earlier this month.
