Dark Side of the Ring Company Vice Media Files For Bankruptcy

PWInsider reports that Vice Media, the parent company of Dark Side of the Ring network Vice TV, has officially filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The network filed today in New York in order to facilitate a sale. Vice was once valued at $5.7 billion and also aired Tales From the Territories, as well as MLW.
The filing also notes that a sale of the company for $225 million (including assets and liabilities) is possible and expected to be done in the next several months. The new buyers will be a group that includes Fortress Credit Corporation (they are owed $475 million), Soros Fund Management and Monroe Capital. The filing also notes that A&E, who own a stake in Vice, is owed $937,000.
