DOUKI Says He’s Open To Proposed Title vs. Title Match With Mistico

Mistico suggested a title vs. title match with DOUKI at NJPW x CMLL FantasticaMania, and the NJPW star says he’s open to it if Mistico was serious. Mistico is the MLW World Middleweight Champion, while DOUKI holds the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. DOUKI was asked about the challenge during an interview with NJPW, and he expressed some skepticism regarding whether the challenge was legitimate.

“We-ell, maybe the Japanese fans might not realize this, but Mistico tends to challenge people to mask versus mask and title matches in every venue he’s in,” DOUKI said with a laugh. “It got a good reaction, so I don’t know whether he was serious or just saying it for the pop.”

He continued, “But if he’s serious I want to do it. If we did it in Mexico, it would be ten times the heat in Sendai. The crowd would be 1000% for him so that would be a lot of fun.”

DOUKI will defend his title at NJPW Road to Destruction tomorrow against Taiji Ishimori.
