Much like Michael Buble, it’s a new dawn of a new day in a new life for Drew McIntyre, and he’s feeling good. As previously reported, Drew McIntyre started his 2026 out strong, finally defeating Cody Rhodes to win the WWE Undisputed Championship in a Three Stages of Hell Match last night on WWE SmackDown.
Of course, as previously noted, Drew McIntyre was feeling pretty good after the victory, writing on his X account, “No longer bored at work,” referencing his past famous WrestleMania tweets. He also posted a photo of himself with his newly won title.
Later, McIntyre shared another photo (see below) showing him sleeping in bed with his title. He wrote in the caption, “I prayed for this, and it happened.” This is in reference to another famous line from McIntyre’s promo during his feud with CM Punk.
McIntyre won the Three Stages of Hell Match 2-1 against Rhodes, with McIntyre taking the first fall under standard match rules. Rhodes won the second fall under Falls Count Anywhere Rules, leading to the third and final segment inside a Steel Cage.
Ultimately, it was Jacob Fatu who cost Rhodes the title. Fatu returned, attacking Drew McIntyrer, seemingly in retaliation for taking him out of commission months ago. However, Cody Rhodes then pulled Fatu off of McIntyre, which allowed the Scottish Warrior to crawl out of the cage, giving him the final fall and WWE Title.
