Drew McIntyre Opens WWE Smackdown With Promo, Confronted By Randy Orton & Jacob Fatu

Drew McIntyre kicked off WWE Smackdown celebrating himself as the new Undisputed WWE Champion, but found himself in the crosshairs of Randy Orton & Jacob Fatu. Friday night’s show saw McIntyre come down to the ring to talk about his Undisputed WWE Championship win over Rhodes on last week’s show. He talked about how he prayed for it to happen and it did, and how he’s received so much love since.

McIntyre then turned on the crowd, saying that they jumped on his bandwagon but weren’t there when he was fired from WWE, or when he was screwed over by Roman Reigns, CM Punk, or Cody Rhodes and referees. McIntyre said he only had himself to thank and then turned to Rhodes, saying he put a clause in the contract for the title match that Rhodes doesn’t get a rematch.

Orton then came out from the back to confront McIntyre. Orton said he didn’t like McIntyre and wasn’t there to congratulate him. He said that McIntyre could have kicked his head through but didn’t, and that if he had the chance he won’t hesitate. Orton said he’s beaten McIntyre for the title before and will do so again.

Fatu then came out and went after McIntyre, attacking him. The two battled to the floor and into the audience. As all this was happening, The Miz snuck into the ring behind Orton and hit a Skull Crushing Finale to gain an advantage in their match that was about to happen.
