Glenn Jacobs Isn’t Surprised By Mick Foley Cutting Ties With WWE Over Donald Trump

Glenn Jacobs, aka Kane, is unsurprised by Mick Foley’s decision to part ways with WWE over their association with Donald Trump. As reported last week, Foley announced that he was parting ways with the company due to their relationship with Trump. The decision came after Trump mocked Rob Reiner’s murder, saying that he had died of “Trump derangement syndrome.”
Jacobs is a well-known conservative who serves as the mayor of Knox Country, Tennessee. He has been vocal about his support of Trump and, of course, had a long association with Foley in WWE. He appeared on Newsmax for an unrelated segment and was asked about Foley’s decision.
“Well, certainly it’s no surprise,” Jacobs said. “I know where Mick is at politically. And we’ve had our discussions about politics, but we’ve always been able to keep them civil and I wish that could happen more on the public platforms altogether.”
The WWE Hall of Famer continued, “You know, one thing is we live in a country where we are free to disagree about things. And I think Mick is wrong, but nevertheless he’s entitled to his opinion. I will defend his right to say that, even if I do think he’s wrong, and that’s the beauty of America. I wish that would kind of be all over the place as opposed to just in wrestling, though.”
Jacobs’ last in-ring appearance as Kane came during the 2021 WWE Royal Rumble. He’s served as mayor for Knox County since 2018.
