Greg DeMarco’s Bold Predictions for WWE TLC 2015

December 13, 2015 | Posted by Greg De Marco

411Mania’s Greg DeMarco gets you ready for Sunday’s WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs in style with his B.O.L.D. Predictions!

On Sunday, December 13, the WWE presents their annual Tables Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view. This is the eighth time Tables, Ladders and Chairs has been a pay-per-view in name along with a match.

The first TLC match, of course, was at WWE SummerSlam 2000 when Edge & Christian outlasted The Dudley Boyz and The Hardy Boyz to retain the (then) WWF Tag Team Championships. Many assume the first TLC match was at WrestleMania 16 (actually an unnumbered WrestleMania, originally titled WrestleMania 2000), but that was a Triple Threat Ladder Match that happened to involve tables and chairs as well—and was most likely the inspiration for the creation of this match and eventual pay-per-view event.

Sunday will provide us with the eighteenth time the WWE presents a TLC match, seventeenth if you disqualify the WeeLC match at Extreme Rules 2014…

…and we should all probably do that.

Interesting TLC fact: after debuting at the 2012 Survivor Series pay-per-view event, The Shield wrestled in their first official 2012 TLC pay-per-view, defeating Daniel Bryan, Kane (Team Hell No) and (the) Ryback.

Interesting TLC fact #2: John Cena was the first man to ever win the a WWE world title in a TLC match, defeating Edge for the WWE Championship at the 2006 Unforgiven pay-per-view.

Interesting TLC fact #3: The aforementioned Edge won the most TLC matches, five, during his illustrious Hall Of Fame career.

Interesting TLC fact #3.2: Edge competed in each of the first seven TLC matches, winning four.

Interesting TLC fact #3.3: Edge has competed more TLC matches than any other WWE superstar, with eight to his credit.

Likely-related-not-interesting-but-sad-TLC-fact: Edge was forced into retirement due to neck injuries in 2012.

Interesting TLC fact #4: Not only will Sheamus defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship this Sunday, against Roman Reigns, he will do it in his first ever TLC match. However, Sheamus is inseparably linked to this event, having won his first ever WWE world title from John Cena at the first ever TLC pay-per-view event in 2009. He won that title in a tables match…

…and if you were a member of the Internet Wrestling Community at the time, you likely bitched about it!

Interesting TLC fact #5: The stats of Texas has hosted the most TLC matches, four, with three of those happening in Houston. This weekend will be the first ever in Boston (and Massachusetts) unless one of the many New England independents ran one.

The 2015 edition features the previously mentioned Sheamus versus Roman Reigns Tables, Ladders and Chairs match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, along with several matches with great potential. Chief among them is the Ladder Match for the WWE Tag Team Championships, as The New Day defends against The Lucha Dragons and The Usos.

Final trivial fact: this event will feature the ever 8-man tag team tables match, one month after the Survivor Series pay-per-view event, which is known for 8- and 10-man tag team matches.

Vince was right, Survivor Series is indeed obsolete.

So precisely what is going to happen at WWE TLC? No clue! For answers to that question you should check out our 411Mania Roundtable Preview!

Because contained below are bold predictions for the event. Not likely to happen, these are indeed B.O.L.D.: Bullheaded, Outlandish, Lascivious, and Deplorable. But if—I mean when!—one hits, I can promise you’ll never hear the end of it!

Extreme Rules

One of the matches I am most excited about on this show is the 8-man tag team elimination Tables Match between The ECW Originals of The Dudley Boyz, Tommy Dreamer and Rhyno and The Wyatt Family. One of the major accomplishments if 2015 for the WWE, an accomplishment many are failing to recognize, is a renewed focus on the midcard. The company currently features midcard matches that matter.

Think I’m wrong? The hottest act in the company is The New Day, and they’re the tag team champions. But back to this match…

I was among the 4 people who were hoping the Dudleys fourth man was going to be Rhyno. I have no desire to see The Sandman, Rob Van Dam can come back anytime, Taz simply ain’t happening, and Spike Dudley is teaching school kids. Rhyno, already signed and working in NXT, made the most sense. Add in the fact that I am a Rhyno-mark, and you have a recipe for Greg DeMarco Happiness.

Who won’t be happy? Those who think this match will give a “much needed” win to The Wyatt Family. First off, they don’t need it. They’re over no matter what, and they’re always a threat in anything they do. On top of that, this match is there to please the crowd. And the pro-ECW crowd will be very happy with the outcome.

There Will Be Plunder Where There “Shouldn’t” Be

Dean Ambrose is challenging Kevin Owens for the Intercontinental Championship in a match that is among the hardest to call. With the apparent Charlotte & Paige double-turn, the company currently has ever title around the waist of a heel. That’s not a bad place to be as we approach WrestleMania season, considering the money is always in the chase.

Does the WWE keep that title on Kevin Owens, or does it move to Dean Ambrose? Honestly…it doesn’t matter what they do!

At least not to me, because that’s not what this prediction is about.

This one is about plunder. Because how can you have Kevin Owens—sick sociopathic sonnovabitch that he is, and Dean Ambrose—borderline lunatic that he is, and NOT have someone grab a ladder, chair, and/or table from the ringside, aisle or stage?

You can’t. And while this match isn’t in any form of a TLC stipulation, it will definitely feature some of it.

LOLCHARLOTTEWINS!

She’s been Divas Champion since Night Of Champions, and that’s not going to change anytime soon. The WWE finally righted the Charlotte ship on Monday, effectively turning her heel and Paige face—if you think the WWE cares about Diva face/heel alignment…which they obviously don’t.

But The Lady Flair does have a stranglehold on that butterfly belt, and we should learn to get used to it. In fact, we should LEARN TO LOVE IT, BECAUSE IT’S THE BEST THING GOING TODAY. WOOOOO!

See what I did there?

The WWE couldn’t wait to get this title around Charlotte’s waist (at least, not until after Nikki Bella broke AJ Lee’s reign), and the best option to dethrone her is chilling with Team BAD and twerking with New Day.

And I’m totally okay with that, because the #LegitBoss needs to turn face before taking down Charlotte. If turning a Diva face is still possible.

But that’s for later. For right now, Charlotte is the Divas Champion, and is retaining it at TLC even if Paige is the better of the two.

The real question here is HOW IN THE HELL DID THE WWE MISS ANOTHER HISTORY MAKING DIVA OPPORTUNITY?

First they miss on putting Charlotte and Nikki inside Hell In A Cell, and now they miss on putting Charlotte and Paige in a Ladder Match? It’s SO SIMPLE!!!

Well, at least we have this:

League Of Nations Reigns Supreme

Now did you see what I did THERE? That’s right…REIGNS supreme! I know, like Enzo Amore loves to say…YOU CAN’T TEACH THAT!

But in all seriousness, this I can’t shake the feeling that this League Of Nations is the real deal. I know many things were shuffled due to Seth Rollins’ injury, but it’s entirely possible this was going to happen.

Think about it. The Authority and Seth Rollins were already having problems. So teasing a Roman Reigns heel turn could have happened anyway. Sheamus cashing in? Could have happened as well. Then you have Sheamus feuding with Roman with the LON behind him, while Seth Rollins starts a war with The Authority.

Make sense.

But with these injuries (Rollins, Randy Orton, etc.), we might be headed down a different road for WrestleMania. One that leads to Triple H versus…Roman Reigns.

I could see the heir apparent going over the boss at WrestleMania 32 in Dallas, Texas, and then winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship shortly after. As for Sheamus? Well a showdown with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania could definitely work. So could one with Dean Ambrose. They have plenty of options there.

This Show Will Be Stolen

This is a good card. It’ll surprise a lot of you who are actually willing to allow yourself to enjoy the product, versus the majority of you reading this who will watch TLC looking for something to hate.

(Kinda like when you read my work!)

There is a ton of potential here and I don’t see a match that will suck. But I obviously don’t hate Alberto Del Rio and Ryback as much as you do!

But the New Day, a rejuvenated Usos and a very consistent Lucha Dragons are doing battle in a Ladder Match that is likely to both kick off and steal the show.

Look people, it’s simple. The New Day is the best act in the company right now. They clap and dance on the way to the ring. They have a cheesy clap chant. Xavier Woods plays a trombone. Kofi Kingston almost has pigtails. Big E is a preacher.

AND IT’S OVER!

They debuted fucking unicorn horns, and they sold out in less than five hours! They’re twerking with Sasha Banks on Raw, and it’s over! Everything they touch turns to gold, and it’s going to continue at TLC.

So I won’t be sour. I won’t dare. Instead I’ll clap for my world famous, two time champs and FEEEEELLL THE POWWWAAAAHHHHH!

Because it’s a New Day…yes it is.
