Bron Breakker’s Spear Helps Gunther Defeat Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 42 Saturday

Seth Rollins once again proved why he is the modern-day Mr. WrestleMania, as The Visionary pulled out a performance for the ages against Gunther at WrestleMania 42 Saturday. However, a Super Spear from a returning Bron Breakker ultimately led to his downfall, as The Ring General secured his first ‘Mania win since 2023 via The Sleeper Hold.

Rollins vs. Gunther was built around the two wrestlers fighting for the honor to be called the best professional wrestlers of their generation, and the former WWE World Champions pulled out all stops to prove that as they delivered a match that can only be described as a love letter to pro wrestling.

It was intense right from the outset, as the two got in each other’s faces the moment Seth entered the ring. Gunther didn’t waste any time, as he attacked Seth, Powerbombing him before throwing him out of the ring. However, Rollins was equally locked in, as he responded with an equal lethal offense.

Gunther quickly went to his signature Sleeper Hold after exchanging chops and kicks. However, Rollins wasn’t ready to sleep just yet. He threw everything at the Career Killer: machine gun chops, Pedigree, a bucklebomb, a Superplex, and a Falcon Arrow, and yes, even the Sleeper Hold, but it wasn’t enough to put Gunther away.

The closing sequence of the match saw Seth hit two Suicide Dives on Gunther. He went for the third, but Gunther blocked it and then hit Seth with a Powerbomb on the apron and then on the announce table. He went for the third on the table, but Seth reversed it into a Pedigree and followed it up with a Stomp.

Right at this moment, Bron Breakker appeared out of nowhere and Speared the daylights out of Rollins. Gunther then dragged Seth into the ring and picked up the win via the Sleeper Hold.
