Hideo Itami Pays Tribute To Katsuyori Shibata During WWE Tour of Japan
July 3, 2018 | Posted by

SportsKeeda reports that during WWE’s recent live event in Japan, Hideo Itami paid tribute to Japanese legend Katsuyori Shibata. Shibata worked with Itami in Pro Wrestling NOAH in a tag team called The Takeover.
Shibata suffered a subdural hematoma during an IWGP Heavyweight title match with Kazuchika Okada in 2017. He then announced his semi-retirement from wrestling and hasn’t wrestled in over a year.
During Itami’s match at a Smackdown event in Tokyo at the Ryogoku, he sat cross-legged in the ring and did Shibata’s pose. This led to a Shibata chant in the arena.
