Ian Riccaboni Getting Praise in AEW, More Details On Current Role

Fightful Select reports that Ian Riccaboni has received a lot of praise backstage for his work as an announcer in AEW and Ring of Honor. Riccaboni specifically got praised after a series of double tapings, and that happened again after last night’s Dynamite. Riccaboni is expected to be featured more often while the company is in Philadelphia.

Riccaboni primarily works as the lead announcer for Ring of Honor, but has done work for AEW Dynamite several times, including earlier this year. For the double tapings, he was used to give Tony Schiavone a break from working over four hours for multiple shows. He also works to fill in for other commentators when asked.

Riccaboni recently signed a new deal with AEW. He’s said to be “beloved” backstage, witht several wrestlers saying they hoped he would get a more permanent role in AEW. AEW, meanwhile, is happy with the commentary team and Riccaboni has a day job that he enjoys doing. He also is devoted to his family, which AEW respects.
