Jerry Lawler Doesn’t Believe John Cena Should Retire From WWE

Count Jerry Lawler among those who don’t believe John Cena should retire from WWE. Cena kicks off his final in-ring run in 2025 and will retire afterward, something Lawler said he hopes isn’t final during an appearance on Sportskeeda WrestleBinge.
“I don’t think anybody should ever retire,” began Lawler (per Wrestling Inc). “There’s too many things that you can do without using the word ‘retire.’ I use that when I hear about somebody retiring, I look for them to die pretty soon. I would never say that he’s going to retire.”
Lawler, of course, has yet to officially retire from the ring himself. Despite no longer wrestling for WWE due in large part to the heart attack he suffered in 2012, he continued competing on the independent scene. He has not competed since suffering a stroke in February of 2023.
