During a recent interview with Busted Open Radio, WWE Superstar Je’Von Evans explained that he practiced a Kofi Kingston-like save spot for the WWE Royal Rumble, which he ultimately did not use. Evans noted that he wanted to create something else that fans would identify as his own.

Je’Von Evans revealed (via WrestlingInc.com), “Everyone was kind of expecting me to do the Kofi Kingston save and, ‘Oh, is he going to jump from the table to the apron?’ or whatever. I tried it, and it worked!”

Evans continued, “But I’m glad we didn’t do it because I feel like Kofi, he made that so memorable with his that I don’t want to continue something that he already made legendary.” He added, “That was his thing, so I want to create something that everybody will be like, ‘Oh. That’s Je’Von Evans.’ I always want to be myself.”

Evans entered at No. 8 in the men’s Rumble match and lasted over 40 minutes. He scored no eliminations and was ultimately eliminated by Randy Orton.
