On a recent episode of his podcast, “Grilling JR,” Jim Ross discussed the dynamic between SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis and Drew McIntyre. While Aldis has focused on his role as an official since joining WWE and has said that there hasn’t been talk about him returning to the ring. However, as Smackdown GM he has been heavily involved in the Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre feud, and Ross supports the idea of doing a match between Aldis and McIntyre.  Here are the highlights:

On The Idea Of the Match:

“Absolutely. Because you know, we’ve talked about it here on the show for years now. Wrestling fans like new and they like surprises. Well, Aldis and McIntyre would certainly be new. And as you pointed out, they have their backgrounds, and both being from the UK, you know their match is going to be good because they got something to prove. It’s a UK thing, and it’s a chance to get on the main stage as a main event guy in a one-on-one match. So I wouldn’t have a problem with that whatsoever.”

On Danhausen’s WWE debut:

“Underwhelmed.  I’m not knocking Danhausen, and he’s a good kid. He’s got a he’s he got his heart in the right place. He’s motivated. I hope that he finds success. He’s a nice guy, nice as hell. You asked me, I’m honest here. I just thought it was a little underwhelming. It put Danhausen in a tough spot. Was he ready for that moment? I don’t think he was. I think there’s a lot of people that didn’t even know who the hell he was.”
