Jinder Mahal Thinks He Boxed Himself In Too Much In WWE, Didn’t Try New Things

Jinder Mahal recently reflected on his WWE career, saying his biggest regret was sticking to one thing and not trying to do something new. Mahal was released in April of 2024, ending his second run with the company. Now working as Raj Dhesi on the independent scene, he recently did a “blind Q&A” on Instagram and was asked what his biggest regret in his career is. You can see highlights below:
On His Biggest Regret:
“I have so many regrets… not. [chuckles] I boxed myself in too much. My wrestling style, in my character, I didn’t like once in a while pull out like a — something new. My goal was always build a comeback for the babyface, more excitement for the babyface. And in doing so I kinda hurt myself in a way.”
On Showing a New Side on the Independent Scene:
“That was actually what Vince wanted me to wrestle like, [to] just work holds. I should have evolved that into something else. But now that I’m actually like on the independents, I’m away from WWE, I show a different side of myself. I can finally be a babyface and try different things. And just really have fun.”
