-Then! Now! Forever! Together!
-Last Week we learned it will be Wendy Choo vs. Nikkta Lyons at Succession III. PJ Vasa and Karmen Petrovic got into a brawl in VIP and they meet tonight.
-Marcus Mathers and Sam Holloway are backstage and they are pumped to be in the main event and are ready to send The Mog Squad packing. Neither man has heard from Cap Jones. Intrigue! Well, there goes the intrigue as we hear a noise off screen and they rush to see Cap laying on the ground.
-Show opening!
PJ Vasa vs. Karmen Petrovic
-Xfinity is still our mat sponsor! Karmen uses his speed earlier but gets caught trying to dive on PJ. She slides out, but gets tossed in the corner. Karmen avoids a charge and fights to get a leg lock. PJ counters by banging her head off the mat. Effective! Sleeper by Karmen, but again, PJ uses her power to counter and gets a sidewalk slam. Splash in the corner from PJ. Another one in the opposite corner followed by a short arm clothesline for two. She goes back to banging Karmen’s head off the canvas. Blake has been handed a note that Cap is out of tonight’s Main Event. Karmen counters a move and starts a comeback. She low bridges PJ, who spills to the floor. Baseball slide connects followed by a suicide dive. Back in the ring, Karmen hits Eat De-Feet. Kick to the chest followed by a DDT. Petrifier hits but PJ is still on her knees. Karmen hits a second one and that gets the pin at 4:20.
Winner: Karmen Petrovic via pin at 4:20
-Solid match here! Karmen withstood the early onslaught and chopped down the monster. It took hitting two of her finishers to get it done, but she gets, what I would say is an upset win. **1/4
-Night of Champions! June 27!
-Mog Squad is celebrating backstage and walk by Elijah. They get a little lippy with him, so he tells all of them to get out of his face before he starts breaking jaws. There’s a tease of who the partner could be.
-Tristan Angels is out and calls for order. He brags about his height, blue eyes, and perfect teeth. He mentions his two sport’s cars and of course he was awarded the title of Mr. England, which makes him the most handsome man in the entire world. He mentions Starboy, and that brings out The Denim Dragon. Angels wants to know why he is wearing denim. Starboy slaps him in the face and the fight is on. Angels gets sent to the floor off a head scissors after they kept countering each other’s moves. Angels screams that Starboy has messed up now.
-The hidden camera picks up Mathers and Holloway in the back. Mathers is on the phone with whover the replacement is and he is here. Pat McAfee?
-It’s Gal is out for his Mint Condition Open Challenge!
It’s Gal vs. Cutler James
-Cutler James from DarkState accepts the challenge. I am familiar with James as he was on Level Up and LFG. Gal starts strong with a series of dropkicks, but gets run over with a shoulder tackle. Gal with an arm-drag and a head scissors. Clothesline sends James to the floor but he lands on his feet and pulls Gal out. He runs Gal into the apron and hits a backbreaker as we take a break at 1:40.
-SNME! MSG! Very quiet as MSG right now as The Knicks are getting dog walked by a Spurs team that is setting records for most three pointers in a Finals game.
-Back at 2:12 with James hitting a clothesline and then a gut-buster. James talks trash about Gal being a scrawny action figure. I need some kind of interaction with It’s Gal and Cardona now. Gal flips out of a move and hits a head kick. He runs into a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. GIANT SWING! Gal staggers into an alley-oop Euro Uppercut as James is borrowing Cesaro’s offense. Reverse chinlock from James. Gal fights out and puts James on his back, but can’t hold him. They fight on the floor and James ends up running into the ring post. Gal with forearms, but Cutler grabs him by the neck and throws him back into the ring. Gal with a head kick in the corner. He heads up top and hits a springboard missile dropkick for two. Gal escapes a powerbomb and hits his own gut-buster for two. The crowd wanted that win! Gal fires up and hits a discus clothesline. He heads up top again but gets caught. Swinging backbreaker by James and Helicopter Slam finish at 7:48.
Winner: Cutler James via pin at 7:48
-They worked hard out there and had a solid match. We can see how this Challenge is going to work as I assume Gal continues to lose and the crowd is going to go nuts when he finally gets that first win. **1/2
-Chuey is with Cutler, who says he is going to dominate any brand because he is undeniable.
-Braxton Cole has an offer for Harlem Lewis. He has gotten him an assistant janitorial position, on a probational basis, at one of his dad’s many commercial properties. He even got him a mop with a sling for his bad arm.
-SummerSlam! Minnesota! You poor people are stuck with Derek Shelton!
-Noam Dar meets up with Romeo Moreno, who is working on his injured ankle. Romeo asks Noam to be his partner against Kam and Harley. Noam accepts. It’s official for next week!
The Mog Squad (Max Abrams, Santi Rivera, and Jacari Ball) (w/ CJ Valor) vs. Marcus Mathers, Sam Holloway, and Aaron Rourke
-With Rourke being included I assume that means we will learn that Abrams is getting the Title Match at Succession. Abrams huddles up his group and gives them a pep talk. Mathers and Ball start things. Mathers with a slam and elbow for a one count. Rourke in and he hits a dropkick. Peter brings up that Mathers and Rourke were partners on Evolve before going their separate ways. I did forget about that. Santi in and runs into a hip-toss. Mathers and Rourke with tandem offense, which makes sense since they are former partners. Holloway in and Santi backs away. Nasty big boot from Holloway and he decks Ball off the apron for good measure. He drops an elbow off the ropes and knocks Ball down as he charges into the ring. Double clothesline sends Ball and Santi to the floor. Abrams gets knocked down as well. Rourke and Mathers with stereo suicide dives to the floor. We take a break at 3:41.
-WrestleMania 43: Saudi Arabia!
-Back at 4:28 with Mathers slamming Santi. Abrams distracts Mathers enough that Santi can land a kick. Valor sends Mathers into the post on the floor and after five minutes, The Mog Squad are finally on the offensive. Cool neckbreaker into a backbreaker double team move by Ball and Santi. Abrams in for the first time and he stomps Mathers down. Ball gets the tag and throws strikes. Santi with more strikes. Mathers fights his way out, but a face plant by Santi cuts off any tag. He avoids a charge and hot tag to Holloway. He wrecks shop on everyone including a sweet butterfly suplex where he launched Santi. He goes for a dive, but Abrams flies into the picture with a Disaster Kick. He is a product of The Nightmare Factory. They work Holloway over as a group in the corner. Abrams with a running forearm for two. Holloway fights back but Abrams catches him with a sleeper. The big man drops to his knees. He uses the crowd’s energy to power back to his feet. He runs Abrams into the corner, but the wrong corner as a tag is made. Holloway with a backdrop that sends Abrams into Santi. Hot Tag to Rourke and now he gets to run wild. Running boot in the corner and another. Rourke off the middle ropes with a missile dropkick to Ball and Rivera. Big kick to Abrams, who falls outside. Now Holloway hits The Undertaker dive over the top. Blake: “It looked like that one was coming from Death Valley.” He catches Santi back in the ring with a sit-out choke bomb, but Abrams breaks up the pin. Everyone in the ring as they all start firing off big moves. Scorpion Kick, Flipping Blockbuster, spinning boot. Code Breaker to Holloway followed by a Shining Wizard by Santi. He goes for the pin, but Mathers breaks it up with a 450 Splash. Sure, why not? The crowd starts a “this is awesome” chant. Rourke and Abrams are left standing and starts trading strikes. Tornado Kick by Rourke. Mathers tags and we get a double team into a spear. Abrams ends up on the floor. Kick to Rivera and one to Ball. Mathers leaps over the top onto the pile as they are just throwing everything out there and I appreciate it. Valor on the apron and eats a Superman punch. That distraction lets Abrams hit Main Objective for the pin at 14:40.
Winners: The Mog Squad via pin at 14:40
-This was a party match and as such, it was enjoyable. Mog Squad winning made sense as they are a team and taking out Cap earlier, should lead to them winning or they look stupid. It also gives Abrams a win and I assume he will be next for Rourke. ***1/2
-After the match, Abrams steals the Evolve Title and poses and it is made official. Succession III: Rourke defends against Abrams. I can see Abrams winning that one as they really want this Mog Squad to be Vanity Project 2.0.
-Thanks for reading!
