Leon Slater Confronts Nic Nemeth At TNA Lockdown, Invokes Plan C For World Title Shot

Leon Slater is choosing Option C, trading in his newly-won TNA X-Division Championship at TNA Lockdown for a shot at Nic Nemeth’s World Title. Slater, who recaptured the X-Division Title earlier in the night at Lockdown, came out after the main event and announced that he was invoking the title’s “Option C” clause.

Slater told Nemeth — who had just won the TNA World Tag Team Championships with his brother Ryan — that he was trading in his title for a World Championship match.

You can see the clip from the show-ending moment below. Option C has been part of the X-Division Championship’s rules since Austin Aries began the tradition back in 2012. There have been seven invocations of Option C before now and three successful cash-ins in Aries, Chris Sabin in 2013, and Josh Alexander in 2021. The most recent attempt to exercise Option C came from Frankie Kazarian, who cashed in to unsuccessfully challenge Alexander at Over Drive in November 2022.

Leon Slater will get his World Championship match at TNA Bound For Glory, which takes place on October 11th from the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida.
