Lyra Valkyria Reacts to AJ Lee Winning Women’s IC Title, Takes Dig at Becky Lynch

Lyra Valkyria has reacted to her longtime idol, AJ Lee, capturing the Women’s Intercontinental Championship at the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event this past weekend.

Lee returned to singles competition after a decade-plus absence in front of a packed United Center in Chicago, Illinois, this past Saturday. She battled Becky Lynch, intending to dethrone the latter as Women’s IC Champion. Despite Becky’s best efforts, Lee was successful in her pursuit, as The Man eventually tapped out to the Black Widow submission move.

Earlier today, Lyra took to social media to comment on AJ Lee’s victory.

She subsequently took a dig at her longtime rival Becky Lynch.

“Big fan of @BeckyLynchWWE’s tribute to the Irish gardaí at Elimination Chamber; too bad she failed to lay down the law against @TheAJMendez,” she wrote.

Becky did everything in her control to retain the championship. She exposed a turnbuckle, kicked referee Jessica Carr in the head, and even DDT’d AJ Lee onto a steel chair. However, her shenanigans ultimately came back to haunt her, as she ran into the very same exposed turnbuckle, leading to Lee locking in her submission move and forcing the multi-time Women’s World Champion to submit.

Lynch, as expected, has since blamed Jessica Carr for her defeat. She submitted a petition to RAW GM Adam Pearce, demanding him to suspend the match official. However, Pearce rejected the demand, leading Lynch to declare that she will now do “things the hard way.”
