New Tag Team Champions Crowned On WWE Smackdown

We have new WWE Tag Team Champions, with the MFTs winning the titles on this week’s episode of WWE Smackdown. Friday night’s episode saw Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga, representing the MFTs, challenge the Wyatt Sicks for the Tag Team Titles. The match went a little under 10 minutes and saw Sikoa deliver a cheap shot to Dexter Lumis on the way to the victory.

Talla Tonga had initially been sent to the back with Uncle Howdy’s lantern before the match. However, late in the bout he returned and as Erick Rowan was occupied with JC Mateo and Tonga Loa, Talla took him out. Uncle Howdy went after Talla as Tama Tonga attacked Lumis. The referee was distracted by Tama which allowed Sikoa to nail Lumis with the lantern. Tama then hit the Cutthroat for the pinfall to win the titles.

This marks Sikoa’s first reign with the WWE Tag Team Championships and Tonga’s second; he previously reigned with Jacob Fatu and then Tonga Loa when they were all The Bloodline in 2024. The Wyatt Sicks’ reign ends at 196 days, having won the championships from The Street Profits on the July 11th, 2025 episode of WWE Smackdown.
