MJF Declares Himself an ‘American Folk Hero’ Ahead of AEW Dynamite in Canada

AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) shared a photo and message yesterday ahead of tonight’s AEW Dynamite in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The champion declared himself to be an “American folk hero.”

The wrestler appeared to be en route to Canada, where he’s set to take part in a contract signing on Dynamite this week. MJF wrote on his X account, “Just an American folk hero en route to the worst country in the world, known as Canada. Additionally, AEW released a fun video today with Renee Paquette, RJ City, and MJF that’s perfect for April Fools’ Day (see below).

On tonight’s Dynamite, MJF and former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega will take part in a contract signing for their upcoming title bout at AEW Dynasty 2026. This week’s Dynamite is being held at the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg. The show will air live on TBS starting at 8:00 pm ET. It will also be simulcast on HBO Max.
