Reigning AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) believes that the current locker room is the best possible representation of All Elite Wrestling and that its positive environment can be attributed to having “no more cancers.”

Friedman is set to headline tomorrow night’s AEW Revolution. Ahead of the event, Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) spoke about his belief that the current AEW locker room is the best possible representation of All Elite Wrestling and that its positive environment can be attributed to having “no more cancers.”

In its initial years, AEW elevated legacy names to the main event scene, but in recent years, younger talents have started to take precedence. MJF, who is the top young talent in the company, feels that right now, AEW is all about pushing younger, fresh faces. He spoke about this during a recent appearance on The Takedown on SI. Below are some highlights:

MJF on the Current Environment in AEW

“Right now, it’s about fresh faces. It’s about the new young guys. It’s about pushing the guys that are under 40 into emphasis. It’s about giving opportunities to individuals that want to be in All Elite Wrestling. If you don’t want to be in AEW, f**k off; go have fun elsewhere. We don’t want you here.”

MJF on The Current AEW Locker Room Having a Competitive But Healthy Atmosphere

“Everyone in that locker room right now wants to be in AEW, because it’s the most competitive locker room. It’s where the best wrestle. It’s where you get compensated the way you should be compensated for your talents. It’s where you’re treated like a human being. And right now, there’s never been a better team atmosphere in the history of the AEW locker room. Am I a part of that team? Abso-f**king-lutely not, I hang out in my own locker room. But it’s nice to see everybody getting along.”

“There’s no bull****. There’s no more cancers. There’s no more a**holes that think they’re too cool for school. There’s no more shmegegges that think they should be elsewhere,” Friedman said, without naming any individuals in particular. “Everybody in this promotion wants to be in this promotion, and if you don’t, you get weeded out pretty damn fast because we’ll beat the s**t out of you and send you packing.”

At AEW Revolution, MJF will defend his title against Hangman Adam Page in a Texas Deathmatch. The bout is a high-stakes affair, with Page’s ability to contest for AEW’s top title in the future hanging in the balance
