The Hollywood Reporter noted that during today’s Next on Netflix press event, Netflix CCO Bela Bajaria commented on the recent allegations against Vince McMahon that caused his resignation from WWE. As previously reported, McMahon was accused of sex trafficking, sexual assault and more. A few days prior to the lawsuit, Netflix and WWE announced a deal to bring RAW to the service in January 2025.
Bajaria said: “He’s gone. So he’s not there. He’s gone.”
Meanwhile, VP of nonfiction Brandon Riegg said of the deal: “The truth is we don’t know how much bigger it can get. I think we’re all really bullish on it, but we know that has an incredibly consistent audience for the last several decades. And so that’s really first and foremost where we’re starting at and then we’ll see where we go from there.“
