WWE Clash In Italy takes place this Sunday, and Netflix VP Gabe Spitzer says it was a decision to help grow WWE and Netflix’s business. The PLE is set for Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy on Sunday, featuring Roman Reigns vs. Jacob Fatu in Tribal Combat and more. Spitzer, the VP of Sports for Netflix, spoke on The Main Event with Andrew Marchand and talked about how the decision was one that Netflix and WWE came to together in order to be beneficial to both companies.
“When we sit down with them at the beginning of this year, whether it’s Nick Khan or Paul Levesque, their Chief Content Officer, it’s what are places that we can go around the world that’s gonna help grow WWE but also be beneficial to Netflix,” Spitzer said (per Fightful). “And this year we knew in Italy, we were launching in April and later this month in May, they’re gonna do one of their big PLEs, Premium Live Events in Turin. So it’s a way to push people to watch on Netflix but it’s a way to grow their business as well.”
The PLE airs on Netflix internationally and ESPN Unlimited in the US, with the first hour airing on ESPN as well.
411 will have live coverage of the show.
