A report has some new details on the AEW deal for Mercedes Mone, her new theme song, and her debut for the company. Mone made her debut on the March 13th “Big Business” episode of Dynamite and was announced as having signed a deal with the company. Fightful Select has some additional details about her debut and her contract, noting that among the original pitches for Mone’s debut was a brief consideration of it happening at the Jacksonville Homecoming episode of Dynamite.

As had been previously reported, Naomi, Tamina, and Bayley attended the show and the two were not kept particularly secret. The site reports that they visited with AEW talent and that AEW assured everyone that they would not be filmed, as they were simply there to support Mone. It was additionally noted that among other parts of her deal, Mone has had her own locker room which AEW has offered to some other female talent in the past.

As of last month, NJPW sources indicated that they had “significant plans and hopes” regarding working with Mone. She was originally planned to win the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship in the match in which she suffered an injury. She and Willow Nightingale called an audible in that match, and NJPW was reportedly very pleased that the two were able to make that decision on the fly.

Finally, as noted Mercedes Mone produced her new theme song and Fightful notes that one of the reasons was that her theme was almost note for note a copy of Kriss Kross’ “Jump.” “Jump” used a couple of other samples that AEW would have to have cleared in addition to the Kriss Kross song. Sources were said to be happy that Mone’s “CEO” nickname was emphasized in the new theme.
