New Luna Vachon Documentary Coming Out

The life and career of WWE Hall of Famer Luna Vachon are the subject of a new documentary, “Lunatic: The Luna Vachon Story,” which premiered at the 2025 Canadian Film Fest. While there’s currently no information on wider distribution, a trailer for the film offers a glimpse into the compelling narrative. The documentary features interviews with wrestling luminaries such as Madusa, Gangrel, Van Hurd, and Paul Vachon, providing firsthand accounts of Vachon’s impact and legacy.
The film’s official synopsis paints a portrait of a woman who defied the norms of the wrestling industry. Luna Vachon, born into a family of wrestling legends, sought to redefine the role of women in the sport, aspiring to become the ultimate villain. However, her journey was fraught with personal struggles, including the guilt of leaving her sons, a bipolar diagnosis, abuse, and addiction. The film explores the dissonance between her on-screen persona and her off-screen battles with mental health, revealing the complex reality behind the “Lunatic” moniker.
Luna Vachon’s life was tragically cut short in 2010 at the age of 48. WWE later recognized her contributions to the wrestling industry with a Legacy Hall of Fame induction in 2019. The documentary “Lunatic: The Luna Vachon Story” aims to provide a deeper understanding of her life, both inside and outside the ring, and honor her enduring impact on professional wrestling.
