Nino Hamburguesa has been released from Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide following an incident involving a fan that occurred during a March 3 event at Arena Aficion. A video from the show circulated online, showing the heavyweight wrestler interacting physically with a front-row spectator after the fan laughed following an in-ring slip.

In the clip, Hamburguesa can be seen stepping toward the fan and delivering a series of elbow strikes. While it did not result in injuries, the footage quickly spread across social media platforms and drew attention. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the situation was reviewed internally soon after the video went viral.

Dave Meltzer noted that the incident was also discussed within WWE circles following the company’s involvement with AAA. Talent was reportedly reminded “to never touch a fan.” He mentioned that similar yet far more serious incidents have happened in the past, but since they “never went public, nothing ever transpired from those incidents.”

Following the video, AAA decided to release Nino Hamburguesa. Talent was reportedly “unhappy” with the decision since Nino was very popular, but they also understood that things had changed with WWE owning AAA. Meltzer also reported that the company is not allowing any of its talent to work the events connected to Hamburguesa.

Before the incident, Hamburguesa had experienced notable success in AAA. He won the Rey de Reyes tournament in 2025, one of the promotion’s annual showcase events. However, he was not part of the final group of competitors in the 2026 edition of the tournament.

Neither AAA nor Hamburguesa has issued an official public statement regarding the situation as of now.
