Note on Likelihood Of David Benoit Working In Pro Wrestling

David Benoit expressed an interest in getting in the ring years ago, and a new report has a bit of context around how likely that is. Benoit, the son of the late Chris Benoit, was in attendance at AEW Dynamite in Edmonton, Alberta back on April 8th. David has previously expressed interest in possibly wrestling and had done a little training, but nothing further was hurt after that and he has not gotten in the ring.
A fan asked Fightful Select Answers Q&A whether there was a chance that Benoit might end up wrestling. It was noted that Benoit did go to Lance Storm’s school for a short time, but wasn’t “quite the natural” that his dad was and sources had indicated at the ti8me that he wasn’t there long, nor did it seem like pro wrestling was goin g to be his future.
As reported back in 2014, Smith Hart tried to book Benoit for a show before he’d had any formal training. Benoit was set to team with Chavo Guerrero Jr., but Guerrero pulled out after learning that was the case. Chris Jericho tried to stop the match after learning about the matter, which led to Guerrero’s withdrawal.
Sean Ross Sapp noted that while anything is possible, it doesn’t seem likely that David will take to the ring. He has always been welcome when he attends AEW and WWE shows and seems to enjoy them.
