Pac’s New Look and Style Reportedly Not Related to Injuries

The former “Bastard” Pac now resembles his old nickname more than ever, following a return at AEW All Out to join the Death Riders and screw Darby Allin in his match against Jon Moxley. What he doesn’t resemble so much is his old self. We’re used to seeing him with long hair and in trunks. Now with short hair, a fuller beard, and street clothes, he’s like a whole new character. He’s also not using his signature high-risk Black Arrow move so far this run.
How much of the change is an adaptation to the apparent ankle injury that’s kept him out of action for some time? Not much, it sounds like.
In a new edition of Fightful Select Answers Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp says it’s simply a style change to reflect his more heelish persona.
“The gear and the hair is just a natural change and evolution of how he looks, and didn’t have much to do with any injuries.”
As for his no longer using the Black Arrow, its probably the same thing, since it’s an impressive maneuver likely to get cheers, which he isn’t looking for. As Sapp notes, though, it is high-risk, so, “Naturally he won’t be able to do that move forever.”
