Penta remains your WWE Intercontinental Champion, defeating Rey Mysterio to defend his title on this week’s WWE Raw. Monday afternoon’s show saw Penta battle the WWE Hall of Famer with his title on the line.
The two traded high flying moves throughout the match, with Mysterio getting a nearfall out of a tornado DDT before the champion battled back and hit a Penta Driver for two. The finish saw Mysterio block another Penta Driver attempt and hit his second 619 of the match. Mysterio went up top and dove but Penta got his knees up and hit a Mexican Destroyer soon after to get the pinfall victory after a little under seven and a half minutes.
After the match, the two hugged but were attacked by Ethan Page and Rusev. Rusev put Mysterio in the Accolade until Dragon Lee came down to the ring. Page and Rusev got the advantage on Lee until Chad Gable came down for the save. You can see clips from the match and post-match below.
Penta’s Intercontinental title reign now stands at 98 days. He defeated Dominik Mysterio on the March 2nd episode of WWE Raw to capture the title. Mysterio is a former two-time Intercontinental Champion.
