Former WWE Superstar Real1, aka Enzo Amore, appeared on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast this week, explaining why you shouldn’t expect to see him in AEW anytime soon. When asked about how he got involved with Fourth Rope Wrestling, Real1 noted that he originally didn’t want to wrestle anywhere else other than New York, referring to WWE.

Speaking on his WWE exit, Real1 commented, “There was just no way for me to explain what I went through when I left the company [WWE]. There was no place I wanted to be. I mean, New York, New York, that’s it. You know, the city in my backyard. I never wanted to go to WCW.

The wrestler went on to explain that he did consider AEW, but after reaching out to the promotion, the company “had no interest” in him. He stated, “AEW was, you know, something that I considered. I reached out. They had no interest. And I’m at a point where if it’s **** me, it’s **** you. I mean, what do I care? What are you going to cancel me? Like, what do I care?”

Real1 explained that he has nothing to lose now after he “already lost everything.” He continued, “I have nothing to lose, bro. I’ve already lost everything. I’ve been dragged through the mud. And you know, when you treat them like dirt, they stick like mud, bro. You know, I don’t care if you treat me a certain way, I’ll treat you the same way back, bro.”

The former WWE Cruiserweight Champion went on to say that he’s in a “good place” and “solid right now.” He added, “I don’t have any gripe with the business because I’m in such a good place. Like I said, I’m solid right now.”

Real1 is currently with Fourth Rope Wrestling, holding their Flyweight Title. Fourth Rope’s next event, Heels H9ve Eyes, is scheduled for tomorrow (Oct. 30) at Six Flags Great Adventure.

Real1 (real name Eric Arndt) was released from WWE in January 2018, after it was revealed that a police investigation was being conducted regarding a rape allegation against him.

The case against Arndt was later closed after the Phoenix Police Department determined that they did not have sufficient evidence to carry on with an investigation.
