WWE Cancels September 4th Smackdown Taping in Cincinnati
Sorry, Ohio. It looks like one Smackdown less at the beginning of the fall.
WWE.com still lists the Friday Night Smackdown show, 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 4th at the Heritage Bank Center on their “Tickets” page. But click the link, and it forwards to Ticketmaster, where the following message is displayed:
“Event Canceled
Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event.
You don’t need to do a thing. We’ll issue a refund to the
original method of payment used at time of purchase, as soon as funds are received from the Event Organizer. It should appear on your account within 14-21 days.
Please Note: If the tickets were transferred to you, the refund will go to the fan who originally purchased the tickets from Ticketmaster.”
No official reason has been given for the cancellation, nor a new venue as yet. Hat tip to PWInsider for noticing first.
Tonight’s Smackdown will still be from Kansas City, and feature Gunther getting his WWE Undisputed title rematch against Cody Rhodes, with special referee Sami Zayn. Other scheduled matches include Damian Priest ad R-truth vs. The MFTs for the tag team titles, and Charlotte Flair taking on Liv Morgan in the Queen of the Ring semifinals.
411 will have live coverage of tonight’s show as per usual starting at 7:30 PM ET/4:30 PM PT.
