As previously reported, former Knockouts Champion and Impact Wrestling World Champion Tessa Blanchard shockingly parted ways with TNA Wrestling this week. Fightful Select has more details on her surprising TNA exit. The report notably mentions that even though Blanchard has left TNA, she’s not yet a free agent.

According to the report, sources indicate that there was a conflict between Blanchard and individuals who wanted her to prioritize TNA over CMLL. Additionally, it’s said that many were surprised she was able to continue working in CMLL for as long as she did, but CMLL also provided Blanchard with better options, including booking and paying her more.

It was also claimed within TNA that the company was going to rework her deal to offer her more money to entice her to stay with the company. TNA sources also state that there’s no bad blood between both parties, with TNA officials understanding that Blanchard made a business decision, also missing some dates in CMLL previously due to her TNA obligations.

Blanchard was reportedly working under a three-year contract at the time of her exit, so she was released from her contract at about its halfway point. In terms of MLW as a possible landing point for Blanchard, Fightful notes that, as of now, the promotion doesn’t have a contract with Blanchard and hasn’t had one with her for years.

The report also notes that Tessa Blanchard preferred how she was being used creatively in CMLL over TNA. Meanwhile, sources in CMLL inform Fightful that the company is getting particular about their talent, even wrestlers not under contract, who are promoting “competing brands.”
