The Rock Previously Rumored to Win Royal Rumble for WrestleMania 35 Match With Roman Reigns
– According to a rumor posted by WrestleVotes Twitter account, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was previously booked to win the 2019 Royal Rumble match set for next month. He would’ve then gone on to face Roman Reigns for the Universal title at WrestleMania 35. However, those plans changed after Roman Reigns had to leave television due to his current battle with leukemia.
The commentary by WrestleVotes suggests that a scenario with Johnson winning the Rumble to face Brock Lesnar instead could still happen, but The Rock might have reconsidered the idea once plans changed. You can check out WrestleVotes’ tweet on the subject below.
Rumble tidbit: Plan at one point was for The Rock to win the Royal Rumble & face Roman Reigns at Mania. That’s obviously not happening. Can Rock still win it & face Lesnar? I guess. Depends what kind of agreement Rock and WWE have. Once plans changed, Rock may have reconsidered.
