Sheamus, Rusev Advance In Last Time Is Now Tournament On WWE Raw

Sheamus and Rusev both moved on in the Last Time Is Now Tournament on this week’s episode of WWE Raw. Sheamus defeated Shinsuke Nakamura on Monday’s show in a first-round matchup. Meanwhile, Rusev defeated Damian Priest in order to advance to the next round.

Sheamus survived a roughly eight-minute match with Nakamura, which included a superplex from the Japanese star and a powerbomb among other big news. He ultimately got the win via the Brogue Kick.

In Rusev’s case, the star took advantage of Priest’s eye injury and raked the eyes late in the match. He secured the win via a Machka Kick.

The brackets for the tournament are not officially set, so it’s not clear who each man will face in round two. This week’s WWE Smackdown will see The Miz take on Jey Uso and LA Knight face an unnamed opponent. Meanwhile, next week’s WWE Raw will feature Je’Von Evans vs. Gunther and Solo Sikoa vs. an unknown star.

The winner of the tournament will challenge John Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th. The bout will be Cena’s farewell match.
