TNA Impact on AMC Premiere Rating, Audience Revealed

TNA Impact made its premiere on AMC last week, and the show’s initial rating and total audience are in. The show’s hyped premiere on the network aired on Thursday, and Wrestlenomics reports that the show drew a 0.04 rating in the 18 – 49 demographic and 173,000 viewers.
TNA Impact has not had available numbers for a year and a half, and even then it was sporadic throughout 2024. The reason for this is simple: Nielson reports a top 150 cable originals list on the daily, and TNA Impact did not crack those lists regularly on AXS TV. The September 12th, 2024 episode of Impact drew a 0.01 rating in the 18 – 49 demographic and 74,000 viewers.
The last time we had regular numbers for Impact was at the very start of 2024. For the month of January that year, the show averaged a 0.015 demo rating and 87,000 viewers. If we go back to 2023, the month of January averaged a 0.015 demo rating and 98,000 viewers. So obviously, the AMC numbers are a huge improvement on that, as was expected.
However, a big caveat on that applies. AMC promoted TNA Impact heavily and TNA hyped the show up big in wrestling circles. In other words, do not expect that Impact will regularly be performing at this level. The traditional TV pattern for ratings is a stronger debut. Things will drop for the next couple of weeks and in a month’s time, we should have a better idea of what the regular viewership will be. (And yes, this means it’s unlikely that it will be consistently outperforming AEW Collision which drew a 0.03 demo rating and 274,000 for its January 10th episode.)
It should be noted that, like AEW Dynamite and Collision, these numbers do not include the streaming component. TNA Impact streams live on AMC+ and TNA+.
