Tony D’Angelo Believes He’d Be ‘Just Fine’ If He Went to WWE Main Roster

Tony D’Angelo has his sights set on the NXT Championship, but he believes he’d be “just fine” if he was called up to the main roster tomorrow. The NXT star appeared on Busted Open Radio on Tuesday to promote tonight’s episode of WWE NXT, which takes place from the Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. D’Angelo was asked about whether he thought it would be best for him to stay on the NXT brand a little while to develop his newly-tweaked character a little more.
“I have all the confidence in myself right now,” D’Angelo said (per Fightful). “I think if I got the call tomorrow, I’d be just fine. It doesn’t hurt to hang on to the NXT Title for a little bit and kind of develop as the champion and being the guy on the brand.”
He continued, “That could only help, but, yeah man, I don’t think I’m out of my realm getting called up at all really. I think I could hang with the best of ‘em.”
D’Angelo has left the mob boss aspects of his character behind since returning to TV at NXT Deadline. After getting his revenge on DarkState for facilitating the D’Angelo Family’s breakup, he is set to compete in a Fatal Four-Way match for the NXT Championship at Stand & Deliver this weekend against champion Joe Hendry, Ethan Page, and Ricky Saints.
