As previously reported, AEW and ROH wrestler Queen Aminata suffered a neck injury that forced her to withdraw from the first-ever women’s Blood & Guts match on AEW Dynamite. Now, AEW and ROH boss Tony Khan revealed that Queen Aminata is still not cleared to compete and will have to withdraw from the ROH Women’s Pure Championship Tournament.

According to Tony Khan during today’s ROH Final Battle 2025 media call (via Fightful), Aminata is still not cleared to compete in the ring. As a result, she’s forfeiting her matchup against Deonna Purrazzo.

Purrazzo will now move ahead to the finals against the winner of Yuka Sakazaki vs. Billie Starkz. Khan explained, “Unfortunately, and it’s unexpected because we thought she would be cleared by now, Queen Aminata is still dealing with the aftereffects of that injury.”

Tony Khan added on Queen Aminata, “Queen Aminata was not cleared, and she will have to forfeit. We’ve given her as much time as I could to have her come back and wrestle. The plan was to tape the semifinals last night. The doctors would not clear her to do that match.”

The finals of the Women’s Pure Championship Tournament, which will crown the inaugural champion, take place tomorrow (Dec. 5) at ROH Final Battle 2025. The event is being held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio. It will be broadcast live on pay-per-view.
