Trick Williams Sends Message To Ricky Saints Ahead of WWE Night of Champions

Trick Williams is set to defend his United States Championship against Ricky Saints at WWE Night of Champions, and he had a message for Saints ahead of the show. Saints will get his shot at the title at Saturday’s PLE after beating Carmelo Hayes in a #1 contenders match on last week’s WWE Smackdown.

Williams appeared on ESPN SportsCenter and spoke about Saints, noting that he will show Saints why he’s not ready for the title. He also spoke about how he and Lash Legend haven’t yet had their honeymoon after they got married this week and had some jokes about it. You can see highlights below:

On Saints’ Trash Talk:

“You know, I tell Ricky all the time that my patience is short, and my backhand is strong. But for some reason, he proceeds to talk as much trash as he wants to. So this Saturday at the Night of Champions, I will show Ricky exactly what he’s been waiting on, and that’s a one-on-one match with Trick Williams.

“And Trick Williams doesn’t play fair, and I’m not friendly when I get in that ring. So he’s going to find out.”

On Saints Getting a Title Shot So Soon:

“You know, the copy is never as good as the original. And Trick Williams is the original. The smoothest, the trash-talkiest. You know, the guy who can just walk into a room and captivate everybody’s imagination and attention. That’s hard to do.

“And Ricky Saints, he knows he needs some more time to figure out the ropes and get on the same level as Trick Williams. But I got hope for the young brother, I got hope for him.”

On Not Having Had His Honeymoon Yet:

“You know, she asks me that all the time, like, ‘Oh, where are we going for the honeymoon?’ And you know, ‘How’re we going to top Jamaica in a castle with violinists and cigar rollers and everyting like that?’

“I said, ‘We’re going to bed. I’m tired, I need to get some sleep, man. I am the United States Champion, I’ve gotta do everything to keep my title, man.’ [laughs] We’ll see if she settles for that.'”
