Note on Upcoming Feuds for Roman Reigns, Penta, Cody Rhodes, Liv Morgan & More

The RAW after WrestleMania 42 teased several feuds for the summer. Roman Reigns, who dethroned CM Punk as World Heavyweight Champion in the main event of Night Two, already has his first opponent lined up in the form of Jacob Fatu.

With Fatu challenging Roman for the title this past Monday, the cousins are likely to go one-on-one at Backlash on May 9. At the WrestleMania 42 Sunday Post-Show, Reigns and Oba Femi teased a feud. However, according to Dave Meltzer, that’s not happening any time soon.

In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON), Meltzer writes that once Roman is done with Jacob, he’ll likely face Gunther. However, whether that match happens at SummerSlam or at a later date depends on whether The Ring General goes after Brock Lesnar at The Biggest Party of The Summer or not.

Also at WrestleMania 42, Logan Paul and Austin Theory lost a six-man tag team match to The Usos and LA Knight. However, they are not expected to feud with Jey and Jimmy Uso moving forward, per Meltzer. As evident from this week’s RAW, where The Street Profits aligned with Seth Rollins and targeted The Vision duo, the current World Tag Team Champions are in line to feud with Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins in the coming weeks.

The Intercontinental Championship picture saw the introduction of Ethan Page this past Monday. Page defeated Je’Von Evans, who was later beaten down by Rusev. Reigning champion Penta came out to Evans’ rescue, only to be taken down by Rusev following an assist from All Ego. According to Meltzer, Penta is first set to defend his title against these three competitors in the coming months. However, he didn’t specify if these would be individual singles matches or multi-person bouts.

Meanwhile, Liv Morgan and Stephanie Vaquer are set to continue their feud. They had a face-off this past Monday. Additionally, according to Meltzer, Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton will soon have a rematch for the Undisputed WWE Title, following which WWE could build to a feud between The American Nightmare and CM Punk. The Best in the World and Rhodes teased a future match on RAW after ‘Mania 42.

Finally, IYO SKY vs. Asuka is set to take place at Backlash.
