A Fightful Select Q&A has an update on the wrestling futures of former WWE Superstars Aliyah and Dakota Kai. Aliyah was previously released from WWE just over two years ago. Kai was released earlier in May.
Aliyah has only taken two indie bookings since exiting WWE, both for Destiny Wrestling in Canada. She also recently appeared on the Identity Crisis podcast with former WWE Superstar CJ Perry (aka Lana). Fightful Select reports that Aliyah’s name was around for one company to possibly have her appear as part of a stable, but it didn’t materialize. It’s not said which company was considering her. During an August 2025 interview with PWMania, Aliyah also said she was “not done” with her wrestling career.
Dakota Kai has primarily been streaming and podcasting since her WWE release. She still has a podcast with WWE’s Zelina Vega, ZELVX and CHARLIE GIRL. Although Kai has not wrestled since being released by WWE, Fightful Select reports that she’s been preparing for her next move. Additionally, Fightful notes that the outlet was told not to be surprised if she ends up taking some future bookings in Japan. It’s also said she recently had some new wrestling gear made, so she plans to continue wrestling at some point.
