AJ Styles is going into the WWE Hall of Fame during WrestleMania 42 weekend, and a new report has a note on who WWE would like to have induct Styles. As noted, it was announced on Raw that Styles will be inducted into the Hall of Fame as part of the 2026 class. The Undertaker appeared and made the announcement at the end of the show during Styles’ tribute.
BodySlam+ reports that the news was a surprise to Styles, as was probably evident to most watching the show. More significantly, sources indicated to the site that WWE would like John Cena to be the person to induct Styles at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.
Styles and Cena had quite the rivalry during their time in WWE, and of course they retired within a just over a month from each other. Cena retired after his match with Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event in December 13th, while Styles’ final match also came at Gunther’s hands (or rather, arms) at the WWE Royal Rumble on January 31st. Styles faced Cena at WWE Crown Jewel last year in their final bout against each other.
WWE has not yet announced who will induct Styles. He joins Stephanie McMahon as members of the 2026 class. The induction ceremony takes place over WrestleMania weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada.
