Update on WrestleMania 42 Ticket Sales After Pat McAfee’s Discount Announcement For Night One

WWE is set to present WrestleMania 42 from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 18 and 19, and all eyes are on the ticket sales for both nights, especially after the controversial inclusion of Pat McAfee in the main event feud of Night One between Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.
Ahead of last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, McAfee teased a “massive surprise” for fans. The “surprise” turned out to be a 25 percent discount on Night One tickets until tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer [via WrestlingNews.co], the discount led to 1265 tickets being moved, bringing the total sold for WrestleMania Saturday to 40,610. However, Night Two, which features World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk and Roman Reigns in the main event, still outperformed Night One despite no equivalent discount.
According to Meltzer, Night Two moved 1452 tickets during the same period, bringing the total to 42,769. This comes in the wake of Pat McAfee urging fans not to buy tickets for WrestleMania 42 Sunday.
The underwhelming ticket sales for this year’s WrestleMania have been a major talking point, with WWE’s parent company, TKO, coming under heavy criticism for costly tickets. Ticket sales remain 19% down compared to last year’s Show of Shows at the same venue, as of April 10.
