WWE News: Joel McHale Wants The Miz To Play Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat Sequel, SummerSlam Behind The Scenes Gallery
Joel McHale is the voice of Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms, and he thinks Miz should take the role in a live-action film. McHale spoke with CS.net promoting the animated film and when asked who should play the character in a live-action movie, he named the WWE star.
“I think he’s perfect,” said McHale. “I’m not kidding. I think he looks great. He looks the part and I’ve interacted with him a few times and he’s really nice. I think he’s really good. I’ve seen him in a couple of different things and I was like, ‘Oh, that guy can do it.’
He continued, “Not that I’m casting the thing, but yeah, I think he’d be perfect. He’s definitely out of physical shape and would have to get in shape, but, you know, little things.”
The Mortal Kombat reboot released in April, and Warner Bros. has said that the film exceeded their expectations for its day-and-date release on HBO Max. Miz has been open about his desire to play Johnny, campaigning to play the role earlier this year.
