WWE Royal Rumble Brought $47 Million In Economic Impact To St. Petersburg, Florida

The 2024 WWE Royal Rumble was profitable for its host city of St. Petersburg, Florida with a reported $47 million economic impact. FOX 13 News reports that the 2024 iteration of the annual January PPV earned $47,047,401 in direct economic impact to the city, per a new official report. That report also calculated that there was $28,337,038 in total direct spending and $2,923,664 in taxes generated from the show.

The report notes the following additional statistics as a sampling of spillover business to local companies:

* The Imagine Museum had a 25% increase in attendance for the day after the PPV.
* Ferg’s Sports Bar did seven times the business of a normal Saturday on the day of the Rumble.
* Green Bench reported a 10-15% increase from normal Saturday operations.
* The Sun Runner saw a 95% ridership increase on the day of the shot.
* $60,000 was donated to ARC Tampa Bay, Miracle by the Bay, Boys & Girls Club of St. Petersburg, and the Pinellas Education Foundation

The PPV took place on January 27th in Tropicana Field in the city and saw Cody Rhodes and Becky Lynch win the men’s and women’s Rumble matches, punching their tickets to WrestleMania 40.
