WWE was aware of TNA Wrestling’s new television deal with AMC Networks well before it became public and was even involved in helping secure the agreement, according to a new report from Fightful Select. The information further debunks speculation that the WWE-TNA partnership was in jeopardy following TNA’s media rights negotiations.

The multi-year deal was confirmed on December 2, and the “work started in the Spring to nail down this deal.” Under the new agreement, TNA’s weekly program, rebranded as Thursday Night iMPACT!, will air on AMC and AMC+ starting January 15, 2026. The show will run on Thursdays from 9 to 11 PM ET and will feature a combination of live broadcasts and taped episodes. While speaking to Fightful, sources within TNA strongly denied rumors suggesting their collaboration with WWE was ending. Some within the company indicated that WWE’s involvement “aided” in helping finalize the AMC TV deal.

The report also confirmed WWE officials were aware of the deal early in the process. This debunks rumors that the AMC move might cause WWE to step back from their ongoing agreement. The WWE-TNA partnership, which began in May 2024, has included talent exchanges and cross-promotion, with wrestlers such as Jordynne Grace and Joe Hendry appearing on NXT. Internal expectations suggest that the relationship will continue without significant changes, even as TNA transitions to its new TV home.

The AMC deal marks one of TNA’s most significant media moves in years. It also positions the company for increased visibility through a mainstream cable network and a central streaming platform.
